Two of the most popular beginner books for reading the Quran are the Noorani Qaida and the Madani Qaida. Parents often ask which is better. The truth is that both are effective; the best choice depends on your child and context.
Noorani Qaida
The Noorani Qaida is widely attributed to Shaykh Noor Muhammad Haqqani of Ludhiana in the Indian subcontinent. It is used extensively in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh and by many South Asian families abroad. It teaches letters, harakat, tanween, madd, sukoon and shaddah in a carefully sequenced way.
Madani Qaida
The Madani Qaida is popular in many UK and European madrasas. It covers the same foundations with a different layout and sequence of practice exercises.

The perfect start for kids and beginners: Arabic letters, harakat and correct makharij.

Which Should You Choose?
- If your child already started one book, continue with it.
- If starting fresh, either works well with a good teacher.
- The teacher's skill matters far more than the book.
