Surah Al-Fatiha ("The Opening") is the first surah of the Quran and is recited in every rak'ah of every prayer. The Prophet ๏ทบ said: "There is no prayer for the one who does not recite the Opening of the Book" (Bukhari and Muslim).

A Conversation With Allah
In a hadith qudsi, Allah says He has divided the prayer between Himself and His servant: when the servant says "All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds," Allah says, "My servant has praised Me" (Muslim). Knowing this turns Al-Fatiha into a conversation.

Lessons for Daily Life
- Begin with Allah's name and mercy in everything you do.
- Gratitude first: the surah starts with praise before any request.
- Accountability: remembering the Day of Judgment shapes our choices.
- Ask Allah alone for help in every matter.
- Keep asking for guidance, which we do at least 17 times a day in obligatory prayers.
