Learning and memorizing the Quran is one of the most honoured acts in Islam. Here are some of the virtues of memorizing the Quran mentioned in authentic narrations.
The Best of People
The Prophet ๏ทบ said: "The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it" (Bukhari).
With the Noble Angels
"The one who is proficient in reciting the Quran will be with the noble and righteous scribes (angels), and the one who recites it with difficulty, stumbling, will have a double reward" (Bukhari and Muslim). This hadith is a great encouragement for beginners and adults.

Recite and Rise
"It will be said to the companion of the Quran: Recite and rise, and recite as you used to recite in the world, for your rank will be at the last ayah you recite" (Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi, graded authentic by many scholars).
An Intercessor
"Read the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions" (Muslim).
Reward for Every Letter
"Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will have a reward, and the reward is multiplied by ten" (Tirmidhi).
Turning Virtue Into Action
- Start small: one surah, one page, one juz.
