Many readers can decode Arabic but read slowly, stopping on every word. Here are nine tips to read the Quran fluently.
- Read every day. Even one page daily builds fluency faster than long weekly sessions.
- Re-read the same page. Read a page three times: slowly, then normally, then smoothly.
- Listen while following. Follow a reciter's audio with your finger on the Mushaf.
- Read in word groups. Train your eyes to see whole words, not single letters.
- Master common words. Words like ุงูููุ ุงูููุฐููููุ ุฅููููุ ููุงูู appear constantly. See most common words in the Quran.
- Use one Mushaf. Familiar layout speeds up reading.
- Fix your weak letters. Hesitation often comes from uncertain sounds. Review Makharij.
- Read aloud. Silent reading doesn't train your tongue.
- Recite to a teacher. Correction prevents bad habits from slowing you down.
